The Doha Corniche is a waterfront promenade extending for several kilometers along Doha Bay in the capital city of Doha, the state of Qatar. [1] Running parallel to the Corniche is Corniche Street, a main thoroughfare which connects Dohas emerging West Bay business district with the south of the city and Doha International Airport. It was formed following extensive dredging work carried out during the late 1970s and early 1980s which reshaped Dohas coastline.[1] The Corniche used to be an empty stretch of walkway in which the only visible edifice was a ...

Al Wakrah, fishing and pearling village turned bustling little town, is situated 10 km south of Doha and the beach is approximately 15 km southeast of the town centre. It is a flat, wide and sandy beach starting off golden in colour and getting lighter and softer as you approach the sea. Like Simaisma, the sea is far from the beach, especially at low tide. Once you get to the sea, the shallow water extends for a very long distance making it almost impossible and unsafe to swim. Nevertheless, the walk to the sea is good fun. In fact, you may find it takes lo...

A great relaxing time spent with friends on the beach. Despite many families and people around, we had our privacy and no disturbance. Enjoyed the moonlight and the slightly waving water and the most the fresh breeze. From Doha its approx 1 hour travel through less traffic highway. Beach have few permanent tents and parking lots. We can even park cars near the beach (sand is not so coarse). Prayer rest rooms are under construction and expected to complete within 4~5 months so try to plan your stay over there accordingly. Beach is relatively clean. We ca...

With its long stretch of powdery, white sand, clear blue sea and a shoreline scattered with pretty pink, white, red and yellow seashellsFuwairit is a real gem. Just add a few coconut palms and you could be in the Caribbean. The sea is calm, warm and shallow making it perfect for young children to practice their swimming skills, splash around and explore the seabed. The shallow water gets deeper very gradually, which means that you can relax on the beach whilst looking out at your children, safe in the knowledge that there isnt a sudden drop in depth.
